Peter Forint, BA, MBA, GBM

Business Advisor | Industry Liaison | Director 

 

Peter is a business coach and advisor serving the owners and managers of small and medium-sized companies. He works with his clients to create the business systems and company cultures that support manageable growth, leading to higher profits and lower stress.  Peter also works with Durham College as an industry liaison matching professors and students with private companies to work on applied research and commercialization projects.  

 

Previously, Peter was the entrepreneurial manager of two small software companies. He has launched and managed products and services in Canada, the United States and Europe for companies ranging in size from Fortune 500 to three-person startup.  Peter started his career in major account sales at NCR and IBM.

 

As a strong supporter of green energy and sustainable development, he has written articles for Private Power Magazine and is a member of the Canadian Wind Energy Association where he has served on their small wind committee. He also is a director on the Ajax-Pickering Board of Trade where he chairs the Eco-Business Advisory Committee, and is a co-chair and founding member of the Durham College Sustainability Committee.

 

Peter holds a BA from University of Toronto, an MBA from the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University, and a graduate certificate in Green Business Management from Seneca College.

 

Living in Pickering with his wife Karen and their two young sons, Peter coaches children's sports, has mentored youth entrepreneurs with BACD, and recently reached 100 life time blood donations. He has also served on the Board of Directors for Big Brothers and Sisters of Ajax-Pickering.
